Jason King, The Central Coast Sun Weekly

As general manager of The Central Coast Sun Weekly, Jason King has brought dynamism, drive and a raft of fresh ideas to the publication. In the process, he has enlivened one of the toughest local media markets in Australia.
Unconstrained by many of the time-honoured conventions that have dictated how newspapers operate, Jason constantly explores new ways of working, new approaches to challenges, and new relationships with Central Coast businesses.
His role encompasses management of the newspaper's sales, administration, production and distribution departments, and responsibility for the business's key performance indicators, circulation, marketing and promotion.

He joined The Sun Weekly in 2007 having previously worked in management for The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW Metropolitan Sales Manager - Motoring) and The (Newcastle) Herald (Sales Director).  His career in newspaper began in Western Australia with the Community Newspaper Group in Perth.  But it is the future that most occupies Jason's energy, and it is his progressive approach to publishing, including internet publishing, that will ensure that The Sun Weekly is well placed in the media landscape of the future.

At the expo, Jason will give an insider's perspective on the changes the industry will undergo, and the implications for businesses as part of the Business & Industry Briefing:  Regional Opportunities.
